ABOUT THE ROUTE
This 5-day tour introduces you to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, along with its historical and cultural landmarks.
The programme includes a city sightseeing tour taking in Republic Square, the Ismoili Somoni monument and the National Museum of Tajikistan. You walk along Rudaki Avenue and get a feel for the capital’s atmosphere and architecture.
During the tour you also visit the ancient Hisor Fortress, just 30 km from Dushanbe, where you can see the historic fortress gates and enjoy beautiful scenery.
The programme also includes a visit to the village of Gulzor, where guests discover the traditional way of life of local people and the culture of Tajikistan. The journey ends with a walk through local markets, including the Mehrgon market — an excellent place to buy souvenirs and sample local cuisine.
