ABOUT THE ROUTE
A three-day journey along the Great Silk Road taking in two countries — Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The route begins in Dushanbe and passes through ancient Penjikent before continuing to Samarkand, one of the best-known cities in Central Asia.
The programme covers the architectural heritage of the Timurid era: the Registan, the Gur-Emir mausoleum, the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, the Bibi-Khanym mosque and the Ulugbek observatory.
You also visit the “Meros” paper mill, where the traditions of an ancient craft are kept alive, and take in the atmosphere of eastern cities, bazaars and historic streets.
