ABOUT THE ROUTE
The drive from Dushanbe to Hisor takes about 40 minutes, after which you set out to explore the historical complex in the company of your own guide.
For many centuries Hisor was an important settlement and trading centre, and the fortress remains one of the most recognisable historical landmarks in western Tajikistan.
The atmosphere of the old Hisor valley has been preserved here, and the excursion itself gives a fuller understanding of the region’s history.

Day-by-day itinerary
Departure from the hotel towards Hisor.
On arrival your guide will introduce you to the history of the fortress and the surrounding area.
You will see the Hisor Fortress, walk through the historical complex, have the chance to visit the traditional souvenir stalls and the madrasa next to it, and learn about the role of Hisor as an important cultural and trading centre.
After the excursion, we return to Dushanbe.
