ABOUT THE ROUTE
This four-day route from Dushanbe via Kalaikhum to Khorog suits travellers who want to experience the Pamirs without a long expedition. The journey follows one of the most scenic stretches of the Pamir Highway, along the Panj River and through the mountain valleys of the Western Pamirs.
The programme includes stops at viewpoints, time in Khorog, overnights in Kalaikhum and Khorog, and the return to Dushanbe along the same mountain route. The format lets you see the characteristic landscapes of the Pamirs in just a few days and feel the scale of this remote region of Tajikistan.
TRIP PROGRAMME
Day-by-day itinerary
Early departure from Dushanbe.
A drive through spectacular mountain scenery, over high passes and along the Panj River.
Stops for photographs and short breaks are planned along the way.
Arrival in Kalaikhum in the evening.
Hotel check-in and overnight.
After breakfast we set off towards Khorog.
This is one of the most scenic stretches of the Pamir Highway, with views over the Panj River and the Afghan villages on the opposite bank.
Stops at points of interest along the way.
Arrival in Khorog in the afternoon.
Optionally — a walk around the city or a visit to the Botanical Garden.
Overnight in Khorog.
Free time in the morning: visit the local market, walk along the river or relax in a café.
After lunch — the drive back to Kalaikhum with new photo stops along the way.
Arrival in the evening.
Overnight in Kalaikhum.
After breakfast we head back to Dushanbe.
Stops to rest and take photographs along the way.
Arrival in Dushanbe in the evening.
The order and content of days may be adjusted to departure dates and weather.
